Who we are
We are a charitable organisation dedicated to helping Nyakasura School in Uganda. Many of the members taught at the school in the 1960s and early 1970s.
Nyakasura School
Founded in 1926 by Commander Callwell, Nyakasura is a large secondary boarding school situated in Fort Portal, Western Uganda. Over the next 50 years it grew to be one of Uganda's foremost schools, with many ex-pupils in prominent positions today. During Uganda's troubles in the Amin and Obote years, the school suffered from a period of economic problems, neglect and unrest which badly affected academic performance. An earthquake in the early 1990s and terrorist activity on the Congo border were further setbacks to the school. Now recovering from all this under the leadership of Headmaster Wilfred Kantu and the dedication of the staff and governors, Nyakasura strives to be great again. With limited funds from Government, this requires considerable help from its friends.

The school chapel, damaged in the last earthquake and repaired with financial assistance from the Friends of Nyakasura.
