Donations of cash and equipment
We are now a registered charity which will enable us, through Gift Aid, to reclaim income tax on donations.
All cash donations make a big difference at Nyakasura. For example:
£10 buys 2 calculators, 2 set texts, or a chair for the new computer lab.
£100 buys much-needed laboratory equipment, a computer printer, wood-working tools or new sports equipment.
£1,000 buys 5 computers.
We now have as much as we can handle and a container has now left to transport the goods to the school.
We hope you will find Nyakasura worthy of your support since, as you can see, the projects so far have been most successful. The dormitory project came in on time, on budget and was done exclusively by local people thus contributing to the local economy as well as the school.
The headmaster wrote after the dormitory opening in October 2004: "I am overwhelmed by the kind gesture of the UK Friends of Nyakasura. We are all challenged to make our contributions to the development of the school. There is no doubt that our image as a school has improved immensely."
